November Classes

About Memories & More is turning 8!  Come celebrate with us on Wednesday 11/11 all day long!  We’ll have a free make-n-take & cupcakes to share! 

 

Midnight Madness:  Fridays, 11/6 & 11/20 6 pm to midnight $12

 

Tuesday Coffee Club:  11/3 & 11/17 9 am  Cost is just $5 (sorry, no coupons).  You bring your coffee...we supply the project!  Projects vary but are posted by the Monday prior to Coffee Club.  You should be able to complete our projects in 30-45 minutes. 

 

 

We'll be closing at 3pm on 11/25 & closed Thanksgiving 11/26.  We'll be open 10 am to 6 pm the day after Thanksgiving...hey, a girls' gotta shop too!

 

Saturday, 11/7 10 am Grateful Tin $22 This fun accordion album is filled with techniques & is perfect for your Thanksgiving get togethers!

Saturday, 11/14 10 am Holly Berry Houses $18  You’ll make two multi layered, beautiful stamped houses.  Pick the houses you want to create when you sign up for the class.

Sunday 11/15 1:00 pm Advent Calendar $45  Make this clever advent calendar in this special, 3 hour class.  Pick one of three finishes...black, white or ivory...and we'll have it ready & waiting for you to decorate when you arrive!

 
  

Saturday 11/21 8 am to 6 pm Potluck All Day Crop $5 Get some last minute projects done while enjoying dishes brought by all the participants.  Space fills fast, so sign up early! (no coupons, please)

 

Saturday 11/28 We’re offering special classes that are just 1 hour each!  Cost is $12 per class or make a day of it & take all 3 for just $30!  Each session features 2 cards & 1 treat box (each session is different)...photos to come!  Class times are:  10 am-11 am, noon-1 pm , 2 pm to 3 pm. 

Coffee Club

This is the project for the Tueday Morning Coffee Club 11/3.  It's at 9 am.  It's just $5.  And you have to register by 5 pm on Monday, 11/2...space is limited for this one girls & boys.  It's a cute little 4x4 canvas that would make a great Thanksgiving hostess gift...or just something clever to hang on your wall.  Plus, you'll get to play with gel-medium...one of my favorite toys around!
 

Basic Grey Autumn Card Class...this Saturday!

Join Mindy this Saturday (10/31...yep, it's Halloween!) from 10 am to noon to make these great cards!  Cost is just $25 and you'll make 8 cards in class & leave with instuctions & materials to make 4 more...or if you'd rather, you can stay in the classroom until we close at 4 finishing up your cards...the choice is yours!  No time for a class?  We have kits available, too!  These Basic Grey kits are AWESOME!

Sculpt aSweet Snow-pixie  in Paper Clay
Class Outline, Syllabus and Supply list

Sculpting Level: This class is designed for beginner to intermediate level students ages 15 and up and will be limited to 8 persons so that adequate instruction attention is given to each student.

Objective: Students will learn to sculpt a vintage style Snowman on paper mache box. The basics of working with paper clay will be explained. If time allows, students will paint and finish their creation in class, if not, instructions will be given so that students can finish painting their finished work on their own. Each student will also receive an instructional booklet with photos that outlines the sculpting process. This booklet will be the student's to keep for future reference.

Supplies: (The instructor will provide all sculpting tools brushes, armatures and finishes required for the class). Students should bring:

· a hairdryer or heat gun

· a package of Creative Paper Clay (at least 6 oz) (About Memories & More has this available for purchase)

· acrylic paints in the following colors: black,  red, pink and white. (About Memories & More has this available for purchase)

A protective apron or other garment is optional (sometimes sculpting can get messy). Please bring water to stay hydrated and dress comfortably. Prepare to get your hands dirty and have tons of fun! :-)

 

About the instructor:

The Polka Dot Pixie, a.k.a Jenny Hernandez is the mom of two awesome kids, wife of a great man, and owner of a strange, but lovable Border Collie/Aussie mix named Jake. Jenny and her family live in an old Victorian house nestled in the lovely, pine blanketed mountains of Northern Arizona, just a wee bit south of the Grand Canyon. Jenny has been creating "little guys" out of clay since 1998, and working almost exclusively in the folk art medium since 2004.  Jenny's work has been carried in art galleries across the U.S. , has been featured in Art Dolls Quarterly, Celebrate 365 and  Better Homes and  Gardens' Holiday Crafts. All Day Crops

We have All Day Crops once a month...typically the last Saturday of the month, well except this month because it's Halloween...and then November because of Thanksgiving...but you get the general idea.  Anyway, one of the perks to All Day Crops is the make-n-take.  It's always something new...always a single page layout...always cute!  This is the page they made this past weekend.  Love the paint on it.  It's still 'ol linear me, but I really like this one.  Hope you enjoy it, too! 

Maybe you can join us for our next All Day Crop?  Saturday, November 21st, 8 am to 5 pm...and this one is just $5 and is a potluck.  Nice way to try us out :)

(for the record, All Day Crops are usually 8 am to 8 pm & are $28 & include more food than you can possibly hope to consume in a day...plus the make-n-take...but the holiday months are a little...odd)

The Polka Dot Pixie

Jenny Hernandez (aka The Polka Dot Pixie) has graciously agreed to teach us how to make this little charmer on Saturday, November 7th at noon.  I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am!  He is FABULOUS!  We'll be sculpting him out of paper clay during this 4 to 5 hour class.  The cost is just $50 & there will be a small charge for materials...more on that later but expect $10-15.    Jenny has been featured in Better Homes and Gardens, runs her own website, works full time, has kids, & is crazy busy. I am so honored that she wants to teach here!  I'll post her bio shortly but I didn't want you to miss out on this fabulous class.  Space is limited so make sure you sign up early!  928-526-9292

Tuesday Coffee Club 10/6 & 10/20 9:00 am $5 (no coupons)  Coffee Club classes are quick, easy  & cheap!  You supply your coffee, we supply a cute project!  You should be in & out of there in 30 to 45 minutes.  But sign up in advance so we can have the materials ready for you...that's part of the speed of the class!  Projects post to the website Monday nights.

Midnight Madness Fridays 10/9 & 10/23 6 pm to midnight $12  We're all busy...but we still have projects to get done.  Sometimes that means doing them until midnight...which is actually a pretty fun time!  Work on what you want...cards...scrapbooks...special holiday projects...or just sit & gab with the gals.  We'll have light snacks & drinks for your enjoyment.

Wednesday Make-n-Takes for a Buck!  Join us each Wednesday for $1 make-n-takes.  We provide the supplies to create a cute card...or whatever we've dreamed up...you supply $1...ok...$1.08 including tax.  You can make one or make ten...each one is just a buck!  Projects post to the website Tuesday nights.

Saturday, 10/3 10:00 am  Basic Grey Card of the Month Class $25  The Page of the Month classes are so popular, we thought we'd add the card of the month classes, too!  Basic Grey has designed 12 great Halloween cards for this fun class!  You'll complete at least 8 cards in class...and if time permits, four more!  Class kits include full color instructions, so if you can't make the class you should still sign up to get the kit.  Basic Grey kits are packed to the gills with great supplies!

Saturday, 10/3 1:30 pm  Halloween Tricks & Treats $22  Mindy has designed the cutest Halloween cards & treats!  A box for candy...a pumpkin for decor...and three cards that are sure to make you smile!

Saturday, 10/10 10:00 am to 3:00 pm  Halloween Accordion Album with guest designer Caroline Miller $55  You'll be making a 6x8 accordion album with all the trimmings in this technique laden class...I just love the finished project!  And once you figure out the "bones" of the project, you'll be able to make them for any holiday...what a great gift for anyone in your life!  You won't want to miss this amazing class with Caroline!  

Saturday, 10/17 10:00 am  Basic Grey Halloween Page $25  Another fabulous kit designed by Basic Grey with the best Halloween goodies around!  You don't have to have your photos to take this class.

Saturday, 10/24 8 am to 8 pm All Day Crop $28  What a great time to get some projects done (or started!) for the holidays!  12 hours of time just for you!  We throw in a make-n-take & lunch, too!

My name is Ann Corbiere-Scott and I love art! I hold a degree in graphic design and am always on the lookout for opportunities to stretch my creative spirit and tell my family’s story. Because of my graphic design training my style is varied and very adaptable.

 

I have taught scrapbooking and art related classes for a little over 10 years, ranging from basic scrapbooking to advanced art projects, and pretty much everything in between. I am a proud member of the Xyron design team, my artwork has been featured in Xyron print ads in Scrapbooks etc, Memory Makers, and Creating Keepsakes magazines. I have also created art projects that were featured on Home Shopping Network during Xyron segments. I delight in sharing my passion for art and teaching it to others is just the biggest kick! I create art everyday.
